Don Bartusiak is Chief Engineer, Process Control for ExxonMobil Research and Engineering. He has 28 years of experience in process control and advanced computing with ExxonMobil and 7 years of experience in process development research with Bethlehem Steel. From 2000 to 2002, he was Lecturer and Adjunct Professor of Chemical Engineering at Rice University. Don received a B.S. (ChemE) from the University of Pennsylvania and M.S. and Ph.D (ChemE) degrees from Lehigh University. He is a former National Director of the Computing and Systems Technology (CAST) Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) and Process Control Programming Chairman for the Ethylene Producers Committee. He currently serves on Technical Committee 6.1 for Chemical Process Control in the International Federation of Automatic Control and is a Managing Director in the Standards and Practices Board of the International Society of Automation. In 2011 he received the Computing Practice Award from the CAST Division of AIChE, and in 2015 was named to Control Engineering’s Automation Hall of Fame. He has published 10 journal articles and is co-inventor on 4 patents.
